Today the well known gaming community GosuGamers announced the first Season of their own DotA2 league "GosuLeague". In this league eight teams will be fighting in a "Bo2-Round Robin" system for their share of the 1'500 USD provided by Roccat, Sapphire and Twitch.tv.
Unlike most of the recent DotA2 tournaments GosuLeague isn't a invite only tournament but everyone who wants to participate is encouraged to sign up for one of the eight qualifiers to be held during the next weeks. Only the winner of each qualifier will be seeded in the league. The qualifiers will be played in Bo1 Single Elimination and the team-number is changing between 32 and 16 teams per qualifier. The qualifiers will start on March, 31st:
Qualifier 1: 31st of March (32 teams)
Qualifier 2: 4th of April (16 teams)
Qualifier 3: 7th of April (32 teams)
Qualifier 4: 10th of April (16 teams)
Qualifier 5: 14th of April (32 teams)
Qualifier 6: 17th of April (16 teams)
Qualifier 7: 21st of April (32 teams)
Qualifier 8: 25th of April (16 teams)
The main season will be kicking off on May, 1st and will be covered by David 'GoDz' Parker and Kevin 'Purge' Godec. However shoutcasters interested in covering the event have the possibility to contact GosuGamers to recive translation-rights for the matches.
1st place: 750 USD
2st place: 500 USD
3st place: 250 USD
GosuGamers allready announced that the second season is to be held in June with a prizemoney of 3'500 USD and GosuLeague III will be held in July with 5'000 USD in prizemoney.
