Today at 00:15 Kévin 'strenx' Baéza won the very first The Arena Tournament powered by Sapphire and AMD. On his way to the Grand Final he has beaten Marius 'GUArd' Ivanauskas (who replaced Cypher in the tournament) and ev1l to finally defeat Jonathan 'toxjq' Quick in a exciting 3:1 final game. As the winner strenx takes home 500€ in addition to the 100€ he won earlier in the Zotac QL Duel Cup. Yesterday the guys of The GD Studio announced the very first "The Arena" online-tournament powered by Sapphire and AMD for today, the 1st of April. This time it will be a Quake Live Duel Tournament with 8 invited players. The tournament will be played in Single Elimination format with Bo3 matches untill the Semi Finals which will be played in Bo5 same as the Grand Final. As for the prizemoney there will be 500€ on the line with the winner taking it all! The action will start 18:00 CEST and the whole thing is scheduled to be over at 00:05 CEST on April, 2nd. The invited participants are all from Europe and representing the very top of competitive Quake Live Duel with players like Alexey 'Cypher' Yanushevsky, Marcel 'k1llsen' Paul and Jonathan 'toxjq' Quick. The tournament will be broadcasted by The GD Studio with James '2GD' Harding and Pelle 'fazz' Söderman. The complete participant list can be found below aswell as the mappool.
