It features several tournaments in the most popular eSports disciplines like League of Legends, StarCraft II, Super Street Fighter IV and the Quake Series.

The Quake Live Championship will be sponsored by memory-manufacturer Kingston and will feature a Single Elimination Bracktet for 32 players. The tournament will take place from June, 16th till June, 19th 2012 at Elmia, Jönköping Sweden. Unlike the previous editions (mixture of invites and qualification winners) this time the sign-ups are open for everyone who wants to attend. The games will be played on tournament PCs with 120 Hz monitors, participants only need to bring their own equipment (keyboard, mouse, mousepad, headphones) and their config-files on a USB-Stick or CD and have either a Eventpass (500 SEK) or a BYOC-Pass (899 SEK). The prizepool for this tournament is 70'000 SEK (roughly 10'500 USD or 8'000 EUR), the exact breakdown is unknown yet.

Yesterday the guys of The GD Studio announced the very first "The Arena" online-tournament powered by Sapphire and AMD for today, the 1st of April. This time it will be a Quake Live Duel Tournament with 8 invited players. The tournament will be played in Single Elimination format with Bo3 matches untill the Semi Finals which will be played in Bo5 same as the Grand Final. As for the prizemoney there will be 500€ on the line with the winner taking it all!

The action will start 18:00 CEST and the whole thing is scheduled to be over at 00:05 CEST on April, 2nd. The invited participants are all from Europe and representing the very top of competitive Quake Live Duel with players like Belarus Alexey 'Cypher' Yanushevsky, Germany Marcel 'k1llsen' Paul and Sweden Jonathan 'toxjq' Quick. The tournament will be broadcasted by The GD Studio with United Kingdom James '2GD' Harding and Sweden Pelle 'fazz' Söderman. The complete participant list can be found below aswell as the mappool.

Unlike most of the recent DotA2 tournaments GosuLeague isn't a invite only tournament but everyone who wants to participate is encouraged to sign up for one of the eight qualifiers to be held during the next weeks. Only the winner of each qualifier will be seeded in the league. The qualifiers will be played in Bo1 Single Elimination and the team-number is changing between 32 and 16 teams per qualifier. The qualifiers will start on March, 31st:

  • Qualifier 1: 31st of March (32 teams)
  • Qualifier 2: 4th of April (16 teams)
  • Qualifier 3: 7th of April (32 teams)
  • Qualifier 4: 10th of April (16 teams)
  • Qualifier 5: 14th of April (32 teams)
  • Qualifier 6: 17th of April (16 teams)
  • Qualifier 7: 21st of April (32 teams)
  • Qualifier 8: 25th of April (16 teams)


The main season will be kicking off on May, 1st and will be covered by David 'GoDz' Parker and Kevin 'Purge' Godec. However shoutcasters interested in covering the event have the possibility to contact GosuGamers to recive translation-rights for the matches.

The prizemoney:

  • 2st place: 500 USD

GosuGamers allready announced that the second season is to be held in June with a prizemoney of 3'500 USD and GosuLeague III will be held in July with 5'000 USD in prizemoney.

2GD is well known for his laid-back attitude and his fine British humor. He had played for several big clans in the past, with the biggest being fnatic where he collected several achivements in both Quake 4 and WoW Arena (together with, legendary, Sander Netherlands 'Vo0' Kaasjager and Netherlands Alexander 'Ztrider' Ingarv), then quit professional-gaming in 2007/2008 and started commentating in 2009/2010. He was the host of the IEM-Shows on ESL TV during that time. In 2010 he announced his departure from the ESL and was soon employed by Stunlock Studios as the eSports Manager of their highly competitive game "Bloodline Champions". He is currently living together with some other famous eSports casters and has decided to set up a new studio in their flat to host shows in different disciplines from there. In the trailer Quake Live, Bloodline Champions, StarCraft II and DotA 2 were advertised as featured titels for the show.

The pivot-show is announced for the 18th of March 2012, the same day as the show match between Russian Federation [M5]cooller and Belarus srs.cypher, this making a QL cast very realistic for the first show.

On the 5th of October 2011 the second issue of the "Buli" was announced to the public. The head-admin Germany chosen had big plans for Season II. The league should be more "professional" and better organized, especially the 1st Division should have much more coverage and publicity than in Season I. However something many have feared happened. The organizers, who later have become only the organizer since Germany Thorsten had to leave because of his studies in university, didn't listen to the community and only tried to force their own (best) direction for the league. Even before the actual season had started there was already quite some confusion and arguments because of chosen changing the rules constantly to fit his plans. Despite those problems Season II still started on the 23rd of October 2011. The season was scheduled to have a X-Mas brake from 22.12.11 till 08.01.12. However many of the signed up players lost their motivation either before, or during the season and stopped playing their games. Then during the X-Mas break chosen disappeared from the stage and no one knew, what happened or how the whole thing would continue.

Now almost three months after the Bundesliga Season II should have returned from it's break the ESL announced to abort the whole project. Only 30% of the scheduled games were played until now and the head-admin is still nowhere to be seen. This is especially sad because both of our Quake Live players Austria Dominik 'M4J4mAckukaZe' W. and Russian Federation Ivan 'WTFProoF?!' N. were participating in the tournament and had played most of their games already.

However the people, responsible at ESL don't want to give up the whole Quake Live section and have already announced a 1on1 Cup for the 15.03.12. They also want to host such cups more regularly within a two-week schedule. We will keep you updated on about how things go at the ESL Quake Live section.

The Team around teamcaptain Russian Federation Yuri 'Flashy' Shilenkov, from now on, will be representing Mousesports in all possible online- and offline-tournaments. With this acquirement mouz now has two rosters in two different MMOBA-games (the second being a DotA 2 team).

Today Cadred was sent correspondence from ESL responsibles that confirms that the payments are being delayed to finance other running events. The correspondence, sent to players awaiting the EPS Nordic pay out, is the latest in a long line of back-tracking and excuses from ESL. The league in question began 16 months ago and promises have been made for a pay out on several occasions. The main issue that there seems to be is that the lack of payment to CS:S competition winners seems to be delayed to fund bigger events that do not have the CS:S game on the ticket. Many disgruntled CS:S players have been coming together in private to discuss a potential boycott of ESL competitions on this basis.

The latest piece of correspondence read:

We are totally aware that there are still two season of EPS Nordic unpaid, and we really regret the long delay. So first of all please be reassured that we will send the money as soon as we can. ESL has always paid out all prizes, even though sometimes with a lot of delay.

Concerning the exact date, I cannot really give you one, yet. Because of the high running costs for our current events in Kiev, Sao Paulo and Hanover (all within less than 2 months) it is rather unlikely that accounting can free up enough liquidity to pay your money before CeBIT is over.

Again, we are really sorry for the delay and hope for your continued patience.


Previous e-mails to players from October, November and December also pointed to other events taking precedent over settling these debts.

The ESL have declined to give us any additional comment on the matter.

The Kings of Europe tournament was a online tourney with the best 8 European Teams fighting for 3'250 USD in a Bo1 Groupstage with two groups and a single elimination playoff-tree. Russian Federation Moscow 5 came trough Group A undefeated and have won their playoff game versus France Sypher 2:1. European Union CLG.eu on the other hand made it trough their Group B, as well undefeated, and won their match against Lithuania Mistral with 2:0 in the playoffs. The final itself featured three games. [M5] lost out on the first game then made a huge comeback on the 49th minute of game two in a epic battle over Baron, but despite that CLG.eu managed to keep their cool, win the fights and defend their base and take the third game from [M5] in the end.
They see their ability to disengage in the right time as one of the key-factors that allowed them to win, support player Krepo explains it like this: "Use all CC, kill one with it, reset fight".

Faruk also thinks that it's his fault that the team couldn't show their usual results at IEM Kiev and says in his official statement on fnatic.com, that he isn't "breathing" for CS like the rest of the team does. Faruk was a member of fnatic since December 2010 and attended several events together with the other members of fnatic.cs. However pita still isn't denying the possibility of a comeback at a later point in time.

It is not know who will replace pita in the current line up but the fnatic-management already announced that the new player in the team will be revealed soon so that the team can start preparations for the IEM World Championship taking place in March.
